🧶 Workshop 1: Learn to Crochet Plushies – Beginner Basics

Ever wanted to learn how to crochet but didn’t know where to start?
This workshop is designed especially for complete beginners — no experience needed. You’ll learn the fundamental skills of crochet while creating your first simple project: a soft, chunky crocheted ball. This session is all about understanding how crochet works so you feel confident to move on to plushie projects next..


What you’ll learn

In this relaxed and friendly workshop, you’ll be guided step-by-step through the core techniques used in plushie making:

  • How to hold your hook and yarn comfortably
  • How to work the basic crochet stitches
  • How to crochet in the round
  • How to increase and decrease to shape your work
  • How to finish a project neatly

Everything is explained clearly and at a gentle pace — there’s no pressure and no rushing.

Once you’ve learned the basics of crochet, this workshop is a fun and rewarding way to put your skills into practice.

In this session, you’ll create an adorable crochet bee plushie - a complete character you’ll take home at the end of the workshop.

This workshop is ideal if you:

  • Have completed the Beginner Basics workshop
  • Or already know how to hold your hook, work basic stitches, and crochet in the round


What you’ll learn

In this workshop, you’ll build on your existing skills and learn how to:

  • Follow a simple plushie (amigurumi) pattern
  • Shape your work to create character features
  • Assemble and finish a plushie neatly

Yes. Many people find these workshops helpful if they’ve tried crochet before but felt stuck or unsure. The sessions are calm, supportive, and explained clearly.

Is this suitable for children?
These workshops are primarily designed for adults.
Children may attend alongside an adult for certain sessions - please get in touch before booking so we can make sure it’s the right fit.
